Our name "Les Animaux" was founded in a humanist tradition of acceptance and inclusion, whatever your race, religion, gender, politics, sexual orientation or size. We are all "animals" and we inhabit the planet together and in a small way if we could create a safe place for people to come and know that they were included seems really important now more than ever. Les Animaux is a collection for people who reject conventional ideas and aesthetics, looking to present timeless pieces that are both sustainable and highly individual.
We passionately believe that clothes retain their value and beauty for years so long as they are carefully maintained and the focus for Les Animaux as a brand is to produce sustainable and conscious production.
Our collection is designed to be "season-less", meaning any piece of our collection can be worn all year round and will last you a lifetime.

Our Menswear Store
Our Mens collection has been growing each year and in 2024 we opened our first dedicated Menswear space in our Margate store. This year we are happy to have extended our little corner of the planet in Margate with a separate Menswear location. This new store is next door to our existing Womenswear store and studio on Lombard Street.

About Us
Our Colours
We make our pieces using unbleached cotton fabrics and hand dye them in small batches in our studio in Margate. As we make and dye all pieces to order we are able to offer an extensive range of colours. We use low impact dyes from an independent UK manufacturer and don't use any chemicals for fixing. Instead we use natural substances such as salt or bicarbonate of soda. We also offer a re-dye service.
Our Process
The focus for Les Animaux as a brand is to produce sustainable and conscious production so that in our small way we are tackling the global glut of discarded fast fashion. We are totally transparent in our production (we literally have an open curtain policy between the shop and the studio) we hope that you can trust that we are doing everything we can to uphold the highest ethical standards.
